Founded in 1978, for nearly 40 years its inhabitants have been elusive. Their story has gone largely unreported. But now, parts of the utopian dream are turning sour. Savill directed on season 4 of HBO’s Industry and on the final season of Netflix’s hit series Sex Education (2023). Her first  feature film Millie Lies Low had its international premiere In Competition at Berlin International Film Festival 2022 and its US Premiere at SXSW Film Festival 2022. It went on to screen at international festivals worldwide, with theatrical release across New Zealand and North America. Savill’s short  Ellen is Leaving won Best Narrative Film at SXSW Film Festival 2013 and San Francisco Film Festival 2013.  Also a commercials director, Savill works with Arts &amp; Sciences internationally and Good Oil Films in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Savill has directed story-driven content for clients including the United Nations, Vodafone, ANZ bank, Sky Olympics, Spark, Steinlager, Cadbury, Pet Refuge, Cancer Society and Volkswagen. Having grown up in various parts of the Philippines as the child of missionary parents, Savill moved to Aotearoa as an adult and is now based in London.
